Known as the jade sea is the largest lake in Kenya. It is located in the middle of the desert. The lake is rich in fish and crocodiles. A very remote location and home to the Turkana tribe. The lake has been termed "the cradle of mankind" due to the many fossils discovered in the area.The east side of the lake is reached form Maralal and Marsabit and the west from Lodwar. It is advised to visit this area with an organised safari operator.
