| Kenya is well connected with Europe, the Middle East, Africa and an increasing number of direct flights from Asia. Most visitors will arrive at Nairobi and some at Mombassa.
Jomo Kenya Airport (NBO) is about 17 kilometres south east of Nairobi city centre. Moi International Airport (MBA) is about 12 kilometres from Mombassa city centre.
It is advisable to have pre booked your transport into the city, but if not taxis are available at both airports. An airport bus operates to the city centre from jomo Kenyatta Airport and departs back the airport from just outside the Hilton Hotel.
Overland entry to Kenya is possible from Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia. The border crossing to Uganda is at Busia and Malaba. And for Tanzania at Taveta, Lunga Lunga and at Namanga the main entry from Nairobi. Shuttle buses operated by Riverside Shuttle (020 229618) and Davanu Shuttle (020 316929) travel from from Nairobi to Arusha with a transfer time of 4 hours. Sea entry is by the port of Mombassa. Visas are required for entry to Kenya and nationals from certain countries can obtain on arrival.
Kenya is reasonable well served by international airlines and includes South African Airways with daily flights to Johannesburg; Emirates with twice daily flights to Dubai and with extensive connections making Emirates a popular choice; Air India to Mumbai and form Europe a number of carriers including British Airways, Swiss International, KLM SN Brussels Airlines. Kenya Airways has been voted the best airline in Africa many times and works in partnership with KLM and offers a high quality service on many routes. Kenya Airways has flights to other African destinations, Europe and increasing frequency to main cities in Asia.
