Kenya diving

The Kenyan coastal waters are warm and clear and offer lots of diving opportunities. Diving is good all year with the lowest visibility in July and August. Live aboard diving boats are available.

Normally when people hear of Kenya , they immediately think about all the wildlife found in the forests and in the plains. What most people do not know is that Kenya is very fast becoming a popular destination for diving. This is also another wilderness found under the water. You will be amazed with the diversity and exploration heaven found under the surface of the Indian Ocean.

Scuba diving in Kenya is fast catching on and the Kenyan coast is arguably one of the best dive destinations in the world. Once you get to the reef, you will be amazed at the different types of fishes and the predators found here and if you are after the bigger fish species, you are in for pods of whales also found at the outer reefs of Kenya . Usually the boat slows down and you can play around with the school of friendly dolphins or the calm whale shark.

The weather at the coast makes Kenya 's diving to be possible throughout the year but the visibility around July and August is not as good because of the high seas. The best location for diving is the protected Watamu beach since the reefs are closer to the beach and therefore easy to access.
